INVASION

Invasion

This is a story
Which will be told, it must
About all of those planets
Which have been turned to dust

It seemed like a normal day
When the news first came
Our colony had been attacked
But we knew not who to blame

Our people had found peace
There had been no more wars
Violence to us now foreign
At the very thought we were torn

But this threat came not from us
But something far far away
They called themselves The Eve’s
Invasion was at bay

This of course we opposed
But the fight did not last long
Violence so far in our past
Our weapons just missiles and bombs

Because our world had found peace
Trillions of our people died
This left us without defense
Our weapons shot from the skies

Over the next three days
The battle raged on in space
Our allies came from Orion
But they to were in The Eve’s brace

All of us felt the chill
When Orion’s forces fell
Their corpses now float in space
Forever will their ghosts dwell

We escaped just in time
To see our planet blown to ash
All we knew was now gone
Done with all but one blast

Their weapons were great
Enough to take all we knew
And then they were gone
For reasons nobody knew

But all of this is because
Our world had found peace
We had thought we were safe
Manufacturing weapons ceased

But this all worked against us
On those days before the end
Because we did not realize
We still had a world to defend
